Research Profile
My interests include Greek and Roman historiography, the history of the Hellenistic period, Greek epigraphy, and the ethnic identity in the ancient world. Current projects include a re-examination of Hellenistic historians focusing on Timaios of Tauromenion, as well as a study of the portrayal of Alcibiades in the western Mediterranean historiographical tradition. My article on the Aristoteles Decree and the Second Athenian League appears in the 2006 issue of Hesperia. In my teaching, I enjoy offering students a detailed knowledge of the past while getting them to consider the bigger picture, the larger ideas, and the concepts at work.
