  I especially enjoy studying the Classics here at Notre Dame because Latin and Greek aren’t treated as dead languages. Ancient languages and cultures are taught not as if they were simply frozen in history, but instead as living traditions demanding an active engagement and appreciation.

Classics is about the only major that allows for classes in the Forum, gives insight into Monty Python movies, and allows for the study of nearly any subject, provided that it involves the ancient world. The variety of material keeps the classes fun and interesting; the work involved also strengthen very marketable analytical and
communication skills.
