Orphée et Eurydice at the Lyric Opera of Chicago

-

Location: Lyric Opera of Chicago

You are cordially invited to join the Department of Classics on a day trip to experience a performance of Orphée et Eurydice at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.  This is a special joint production with the Joffrey Ballet.  The myth is related by Virgil (Georgics IV) and Ovid (Metamorphoses X).

The bus will load at 3:45 pm for a 4:00 departure from McKenna Hall on Friday, October 6.  Before the performance, you will have time to grab dinner at a restaurant in Chicago.  We will reconvene at 7:30 pm to see the opera. We should return to ND campus by 1:00 am.

The trip is being subsidized by the College of Arts & Letters, which is covering the cost of your transportation and opera ticket. You will have to pay for your own dinner.  We have space for 56 people on the bus.  Priority will be given to Classics majors, dues paying Classics Club members, and students currently enrolled in Dept of Classics courses.
