Ashley Walker graduated from Lee University in 2020 with a double major in Classics and English Literature. She received the 2020 F. J. Lee Award, an annual university award for the overall most outstanding record of student achievement. She also received the 2020 Frederic Fadner Critical Essay Award for her essay “‘It Drives Me Crazy’: Childhood and Madness in The Catcher in the Rye,” published in The Sigma Tau Delta Review. Ashley’s primary research interests include Latin poetry, intertextuality, and classical reception, especially in modern and contemporary literature. She wrote her undergraduate thesis on T. S. Eliot’s negotiation between past and present in his poems with epigraphs from classical literature. After completing her MA, she would like to pursue a PhD and eventually teach at the university level.
