Audrey Christiansen

Author: Tim Smith

Audrey is a Classics major (with a concentration in Latin) with a supplemental major in Arts and Letters Pre-Health, who comes from a line of talented and accomplished classicists. Her grandfather, Peder, was a long-time professor of Classics at Texas Tech, and her uncle, David, has been a Classics professor in the Penn State University system for twenty years; they have also published multiple works together. Audrey regularly spends one hour each day over summer break translating Latin with Peder, and one hour each day of winter break translating Latin with both David and Peder. Together they have translated different sections of Ovid's Metamorphoses, poems by Catullus and Propertius, and excerpts from Tacitus. Audrey also enjoys regaling her grandfather and uncle with stories about her study abroad semester in Rome.
