Biography

Aldo Tagliabue’s research builds on cognitive approaches to narrative and religion, exploring how ancient Greek narratives expand readers' experiences of time, reality, and emotion. He has published a monograph on Xenophon of Ephesus’ Ephesiaca and is completing a second book on the narrative imagination of the gods in Second Sophistic literature. Tagliabue's third monograph will examine ancient Greek stories of hybris, from Homer to Plato and beyond. His teaching includes ancient Greek courses on Homer and the ancient novel, along with two popular classical civilization courses: “Rebels in Myth: From Antigone to the Joker” and “Ancient Heroes: From Achilles to the Avengers".
