Maggie Ryland graduated summa cum laude with Departmental Honors from Hillsdale College in 2021, where she received a BA in Classical Studies. During her time at Hillsdale, she won two Book Awards for her performance on the annual CAMWS College Latin Exam, and was named the recipient of the 2021 Corona Classica, a departmental award for outstanding seniors. In 2018, Maggie spent a semester with the Catholic University of America in Rome, where she studied the art and architecture of Ancient Rome as well as Early Christian liturgy and theology. Her research interests include the history and literature of the Hellenistic period, ancient political philosophy, Greek religion, and the work of female authors in antiquity. After completing her M.A. in Classics, she intends either to pursue a PhD or to teach at the high school level.
