"I love classics because it is such a versatile subject. My major is actually Science pre-professional and I plan to either go to medical school or pursue a research career in medical sciences. Yet, I have found a surprisingly large number of similarities between my science and classics studies. To me, the same thought process is used to move from the physical archeological evidence of ancient cultures to historical conclusions as is used to move from patient symptoms and medical test results to diagnoses. I never expected this, but, while I use this as an official justification for my choices, the true reason I take classics is because I simply love it."
