Rachel Edney is originally from Springfield, MO and received her B.A. summa cum laude in History and Biblical Studies from Gordon College on the North Shore of Boston in 2020. She spent her last year of undergraduate studies as a visiting student at Wycliffe Hall, University of Oxford, where she focused her research on Syriac Christianity and Christological controversies in Late Antiquity. At Notre Dame, Rachel is looking forward to expanding her study of Eastern Christian traditions through her study of Arabic and continuing her work with Christology, asceticism, and hagiography. When not improving her language skills or exploring the world of early Christianity, Rachel enjoys reading English and Russian literature, wandering in art museums, traveling, and running.
